Wildwood, FL (March 15, 2021) – Around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday night, March 14, a serious DUI accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Wildwood.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of US-301 around the area of Northeast 41st Lane. Police confirmed that 41-year-old Philip James was driving his sedan north when he entered into another lane of traffic. His vehicle crashed nearly head-on into another sedan.
The driver of the second vehicle, identified as a 24-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. James suffered from minor injuries and was also hospitalized.
Police later arrested James for DUI with a serious injury.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
