Daytona Beach, FL (August 22, 2021) – On Sunday, August 22, a woman was killed in a fatal house fire in Daytona Beach.
According to police, the accident happened on Cannon Street. Fire crews initially received a call about a domestic disturbance but, when they arrived at the home, they found flames erupting from the home. Fire crews worked to put out the fire as police took one person into custody.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. A grandmother was found inside the home later identified as Viola Miller. She was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of serious injuries. One animal was pulled out of the home but its condition is not yet known.
The area was blocked for an extended period of time as crews worked the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
