Vero Beach, FL – Fatal Bicycle Crash at Florida A1A & Wildlife Way

Vero Beach, FL (May 29, 2021) – On Saturday morning, May 29, a fatal bicycle crash took place at an intersection in Vero Beach.

According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at the intersection of Florida A1A and Wildlife Way. The driver of a Nissan Altima failed to maintain control of their vehicle, which caused them to swerve onto the shoulder. This is where the vehicle struck a bicycle traveling in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The bicyclist, identified as a 63-year-old man from Vero Beach, was transported to Sebastian Medical Center with traumatic injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
