Altamonte Springs, FL (March 24, 2021) – Around 4:50 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 23, a fatal head-on crash took place in Altamonte Springs.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of FL-436. At that time, a 59-year-old Tampa man was driving a 2012 Ford Focus when it struck a 2016 Kia Forte head-on for reasons that are not yet known.
Both the 59-year-old driver and the 19-year-old woman driving the Kia were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. However, the 59-year-old man from Kissimmee who was a passenger in the Focus passed away at the hospital.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
