Leesburg, FL (June 17, 2021) – Before 7 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, June 17, a car accident occurred at an intersection in Leesburg.
According to Lake County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-27 and Plantation Boulevard. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The intersection was blocked in several lanes for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
