Apopka, FL (April 6, 2021) – Around 8 p.m., a fatal hit-and-run crash took place on Main Street that took the life of one victim in Apopka.

According to the Apopka Police Department, the accident happened on Main Street when a pedestrian was walking in the area. The unidentified male was struck by a vehicle that allegedly fled the scene.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help the injured victim. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver responsible for the accident has since been identified by police. The 30-year-old male has since been charged with leaving the scene of a crash and tampering with physical evidence.

No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
