West Palm Beach, FL (March 4, 2021) – On Tuesday night, March 2, a teen was killed in a fatal car crash in West Palm Beach.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision took place on I-95 around the area of 45th Street. At the time, a 30-year-old woman from Palm Beach Gardens was headed north in her SUV at the same time as an 18-year-old West Palm Beach man.
The 18-year-old’s passenger vehicle became disabled in the center lane due to some type of mechanical problem. The driver of the SUV was driving behind the vehicle and tried to swerve out of the way of the vehicle. However, her SUV collided with the back of the car.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The 17-year-old passenger in the car was injured and taken to the hospital. He was tragically pronounced deceased while there.
The driver of the SUV was not hurt. Police confirmed that the driver of the car, however, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
