Orlando, FL (April 29, 2021) – On Wednesday, April 28, a man was killed in a scooter accident on a major roadway in Orlando.

According to Orlando Police, the accident took place on Colonial Drive about 1,000 feet east of the John Young Parkway. A man was riding his electric scooter in the area when he was struck by a passenger vehicle for reasons that are not yet known.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the scooter, who has not yet been formally identified, was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead while there.

Eastbound traffic was blocked in the area for some time as police worked to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
