Hollywood, FL (March 29, 2021) – Around 10:35 p.m. on Friday night, March 26, a serious hit-and-run crash with injuries occurred on a highway in Hollywood.
According to police, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of traffic at 900 North Federal Highway. At the time, 25-year-old Anthony Valezquez was driving in the area when he did not slow down in time for traffic, striking a Ford Focus. The Focus was struck so hard that it slammed into a Toyota Corolla.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. One victim complained of neck, back, and knee pains. Another had general soreness as a result of the crash.
Valezquez got out of his vehicle and started to run westbound onto Johnson Street. An officer was able to catch him and arrest him. He has since been charged with failing to stop at an accident, careless driving, fleeing the scene of a crash, and more.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
