Apopka, FL (March 25, 2021) – Around 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, March 24, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Apopka.

According to the Apopka Police Department, the accident happened on Main Street. A man was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a gray sedan. The vehicle immediately fled the scene. It is believed that the vehicle has front driver’s side damage.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for several hours.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
